BOARD MEMBERS

Mr B. Lekalakala

Mr B. Lekalakala - Benito Lekalakala was appointed Executive in January 2004.prior to joining Telkom he was with the Department of Social Development from June 2002 where he was head of Ministerial Services and later became Head of Corporate Services. Prior to June 2002he was Managing partners with at Zwane, Lekalakala Attorneys from July 2001 until June 2002and then he became sole Practitioner at BM Lekalakala Attorneys. Prior to June 2002 he was Co-founder & Candidate at Alexandra Community Law Clinic from March 19984 to June 2003.prior to becoming Co-founder of Alexandra Community Law Clinic he was Director at Gauteng Department of Transport. He was a Councillor at the Eastern Local Council (now part of the city of Johannesburg).

He has been involved in a number of Boards of Directors i.e. Alexandra Health Centre and University Clinic, Alexandra community Law Clinic and Alexandra Development Forum, to name a few. Phillip Usiba

Phillip Usiba - Phillip Usiba studied for a Bcomm. Degree at Vista University and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree at Wits University, studied for an Education Management Diploma Course at the South African Institute of Management and Project Management course conducted by PSI AG a German Institute of Project Management. He taught Maths, Science and Biology for five years. He has developed Administration Systems and Management Policies for various organizations and companies amongst others, Spoornet, Local Government (Region 7 Greater Johannesburg), SMME Finance Companies, Educational Opportunities Council and Social Plan Policies for Mpumalanga Development Corporation.



Vusumuzi Mavuso

Vusumuzi Mavuso - Vusumusi Mavuso has a track record of being actively involved in the local government field for many years. He cut his teeth as an activist in both the labour and civic movements in the eighties until his deployment as an MPL for Gauteng in the first democratic elections in 1994. he was a member of portfolio committees of Finance and Economic Affairs, Development Planning and Local Government and Rules Standing Committee until 1996 when he was appointed Chairperson of the Petition and Public Participation Committee where he pioneered the first Private Member’s Bill on which was subsequently passed as legislation.

His avid interest in the transformation of the public service and his training from the Graduate School of Public and Development Management at Wits University prepared him well for his next deployment as a Commissioner in the new Public Service Commission in 1999. In 2000 he was appointed Head of Department (Deputy Director General) of the Department of Development Planning and Local Government in Gauteng until his expiry of his contract in 2002. He continued to work in the local government field albeit as a consultant for Simeka Management Consultancy as a local government specialist from 2003 to 2004 until his appointment as Region Director in the city of Joburg. He is currently the Chairperson of ILGM in Gauteng and is still employed by the City of Joburg.



Bernard Munyai

Bernard Munyai - After completing his matric at Mphaphuli High in the now Limpopo Province, Bernard joined Nashua Ltd. Whilst employed he completed B.Comm Honours degree with Unisa in 1991. He then went on to be appointed Franchise Management Accountant and the Franchise Regional Manager. Bernard, one of the original equity holders in the autonomous franchise, Nashua Kopano, when it was first established to carve a niche for black participation in the office automation industry was offered the franchise in June 1997 and hence the birth of Nashua Kopano, a franchise targeting corporate business, parastatals and government departments. At the time of inception, Bernard held the title of Finance and Operations Director of Nashua Kopano. Bernard heads up the new company as Executive Chairman.


TEBOHO NTSHIDISENG NOMPUMELELO SELELE

TEBOHO NTSHIDISENG NOMPUMELELO SELELE - Teboho graduated with a BSc in Town and Regional planning from Unviersity of the Witwatersrand in 1998. She pursued a dancing career and lived in the UK until 2000. In 2001 she returned to her studies when she enrolled for and completed a PDM in Business Administration at Wits Business School. In 2002 she was employed as a trainee Planner by Maluleke Luthuli and Associates, in the same year she moved to the Gauteng Department of Housing as a Senior Town Planner. Within the period of nine months she was promoted to a Project Co-ordinat Bekkersdal Renewal Project, during her stay at the Department she was also responsible for Project Co-ordinating the Evaton Renewal Project. She retained this position for two years, until 2004 when she left the Gauteng Department of Housing to join Urban Dynamics Incorporated as a Programme Manager.

Teboho has been involved in various aspects of the entertainment industry for 25 years. She started doing ballet at the age of five years. She started by doing checcetti syllabus until she was 10, she then moved onto Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance. At the age of 10 she started doing modern dance and Tap Dance. She did tap dance until she reached Elementary in 1993 and did ballet up to elementary in 1998. She has completed and is qualified as an associate teacher and obtained her advanced course in modern dance.

She has participated in many productions which include Eclipse at Caesar’s palace in 2000/2001. She currently dances to raise money for charity as part of the Goddess dance team.
